In the spirit of the Grand 'Ole Opry and great gospel music, the Gospel Jubilee will perform a variety of country, folk and gospel songs that will keep your toes tapping. Join your friends and enjoy the heart lifting sight and sounds of the Gospel Jubilee.

Elevated Dance Project would like to present our first annual dance recital: Life is Sweet! Come join us for this family presentation, showcasing dancers of all ages, from 2 years and on up!

Based on a 1926 play by Chicago Tribune reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a chorus girl who murders her unfaithful boyfriend, then manages not only to avoid prison with the help of razzle-dazzle lawyer Billy Flynn, but uses the trial to propel herself to showbiz stardom along with another murderous chorus girl, Velma Kelly. A dark parable of American justice, Chicago is a sexy musical extravaganza that includes several show-stopping numbers such as “All That Jazz,” “Razzle Dazzle” and “Class.”

The Nampa Civic Center, along with the Union Pacific Foundation, is thrilled to present the 2008 Summer Musical Theater Camp!! Explore the magic of theater in this 3 week camp designed for young performers between the ages of 6-18. The camp consists of workshops and rehearsals, featuring a well-rounded curriculum in theater, dance and music taught by accomplished local professionals. The camp culminates in a performance of the hit musical School House Rock Live!, Jr. the evening of July 31st at 7:00 pm.

Celebrate Nampa with one of the biggest and best events of the year. This evening of family fun features top professional and community artists combined with great food and dozens of FREE activities. The 12th Annual Community Fun Night happens on Wednesday Aug. 13, from 6 pm – 10 pm at the Nampa Civic Center. Fun, Food and FREE entertainment will surround the Nampa Civic Center. This FREE outdoor event features: three stages of top quality entertainment, two rings of FREE Pony rides, jousting, tons of inflatables, clowns, rock walls, a magician, obstacle course. and dozens of additional activities. Headline entertainers include internationally renowned jump swing band "High Street" (based in Nampa!). A variety of local restaurants will be providing affordable food and refreshments including dinner from Wheeler’s Long & Juicy Hamburgers and Hawaiian food from Kanak Attack. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today. Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. That they will succeed in making a new life together we have no doubt, and that this new life will begin in a brand-new state provides the ultimate climax to the triumphant Oklahoma!

Set in San Francisco following the turn of the century, this story of a Norwegian family’s survival in the New World is told in retrospect by the eldest daughter, a successful writer recounting the start of her career and the childhood that inspired it. She takes us back to relive familial hardships and triumphs including the near loss of their home, Papa’s desperate return to Norway when he can no longer find work, and the sale of her first story-this one. But, of course, it’s Mama she remembers most of all, always guiding their precarious journey with a firm hand and a warm heart.

Charles Dickens’ classic gets the full Broadway treatment in Alan Menken’s-Lynn Ahrens’-Mike Okrent’s adaptation of A Christmas Carol. This is the version that leaves New Yorkers and tourists alike gasping in wonder and merriment every year as the story unfolds on the stage at Madison Square Garden. Alan Menken (Little Shop Of Horrors) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime The Musical, Once On This Island) have collaborated on a score that is filled with beautiful melodies and emotional lyrics. Their song “A Place Called Home” has become a holiday standard.
